FAQ

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

It depends on the size, condition, and behavior of your pet, as well as the service you have selected.
Most haircuts and baths take between 1 to 2 hours

When I arrive I can give you a better idea when I have been able to physically meet your pet to estimate the time needs!

DO YOU NEED TO PLUG-IN TO MY HOUSE OR USE MY HOSE?

Absolutely not! 

I am happy to offer an entirely hands-off by you service! 

My van comes equipped with its own electric, clean water, and grey water systems which are all entirely contained within the van. That means no use of your facilities and no dumping after.

My van does use a generator which does omit some noise, which is about equivalent to the noise of a lawn mower. 

DO YOU SERVICE MY AREA?

I am currently limiting my service area to most of Howard County, Central Baltimore County, and Northern Montgomery County (mostly near the County lines)
If you aren't sure I can come to you feel free to drop a text, email, or call and I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.

VACCINATIONS- DOES MY PET NEED THEM?

I do require proof of your pets rabies vaccination as is mandated by the State of Maryland for any pets older than 16 weeks.

A titer is not sufficient proof.

I do require to see the paper certification of vaccination and that it be up to date.

The vaccine does need to have the correct pet's information on it.

Having a rabies for another pet is not sufficient.

I do not require other vaccines as this is a 1 on 1 service and your pet will not be in contact with any other pets, and the van is disinfected between each appointment. I do recommend that all pets be up to date with all vaccines recommended by your veterinarian.

CAN I BE IN THE VAN WITH YOU WHILE YOU GROOM MY PET?

The short answer is no. 
I have found that in my experience it is best if your pet is independent while in the van.
Most often when mom or dad is around this causes your pet to be more nervous and distracted because they want to be with you!
Pets who learn to be independent during grooming find the process more enjoyable as a whole and doesn't take up your precious time!

CAN YOU USE MY OWN PRODUCTS?

Sure! Just please make sure that the products are dog-specific, I cannot use products for people or other animals, and you don't want me to.

DO YOU SEDATE PETS?

Absolutely NOT.

I will never give your pet anything. This includes treats.

If a veterinarian has perscribed your pet a sedative or anxiety medication (i.e. Trazadone; Gabapentin) Please let me know before starting.

I do offer grooming to medicated pets but need to know for their safety!

WHY IS MOBILE GROOMING MORE EXPENSIVE THAN BRICK AND MORTAR GROOMING?

By offering at-your-door service I am offering a luxury service that offers the greatest form of convenience to you! No driving to and from the salon multiple times just to sit around by the phone waiting for the call, saving you time and gas.
Your precious fur baby is getting 100% of my attention 100% of the time-no cages. 
This means that your service will take far less time than a traditional salon where your pet will sit in a cage waiting for their turn.

IS THE WATER WARM?

Yes, I have a water heater on board that will generate warm water.

WILL MY PET BE HOT/COLD IN THE VAN?

The van is climate-controlled: heat in the winter, A/C in the summer. Both your pet and I are comfortable at all times.

WHY DO YOU CHARGE A FEE IF I DON'T GIVE A MINIMUM NOTICE OF 24 HOURS BEFORE CANCELLING?

 When I book your appointment, I have reserved that time specifically for your pet.  I require at least  24-hour notice for cancellations and prefer more time if you know you cannot keep your appointment.

Please be aware that I may not be able to fit you in until your next scheduled appointment.

If I am not given adequate notice to fill your appointment a $65 cancellation fee will be invoiced to you which is due upon receipt. I understand that emergencies can happen, but if I arrive to your house and no one is home to give me access to the dog, the cost of your pets grooming will be invoiced to you and is due upon receipt. I will not be able to book another appointment until all fees are paid in full.

Chronic cancellations or no shows ( more than 2 in a calendar year) will result in you being taken off of my schedule. 

Please understand that late cancellations and no shows directly affect my livelihood and are detrimental to a small business, so please plan ahead.
